Silvano hosts and produces the weekly talk show “Thank God It’s Friday”, the real life comedy show with an accent. Hilarious, informative, touching, critical and sometimes stupid, the guests always at one point show their true selves. With a melting pot of music from all over Europe and beyond, a musical playlist unknown to commercial radio trends, TGIF is the pulse of our multi-cultural, borderless and global mix.

THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY the real life comedy show, was originally conceived as a public show for the summer 2009, it was financed by Dunas Douradas beach club, Vale do Garrao beach in Almancil, Portugal. The venue obtained massive exposure through the show, but also through the announcements (auto promos for the show) that were broadcast 12 times a day at peak hours on kiss fm. The venue also saw a return on marketing investment  with high frequentation on recording days.

At the end of our contract with DDBC, both Kissfm and TGIF decided to carry on with the broadcast as it had gained great popularity, but also because of the unique format of the show, music mixed with talk, and its often irreverent tone. The “fly on the wall” sequences also gave a particular flavour to the show, sequences that catch conversations between people, rather than the classical host/interviewee dialogue. These sequences gave its subtitle to the program, “the real life comedy show” and constitute a format that has very seldom been exploited on the Radio media.

Perfect examples of this effect are featured in episodes like “The Soul show”,  “A Balloon”, “The Minotaur” ,“Women aloud” or “A good heart” which have become cult episodes.

The facebook page also became a media in itself. Reaching today more than 40 000 fans and gaining each week around 300 followers from all over the world, it exploded with the publishing of the show’s teaser videos. Besides being the “media of our media”, It has now become a vehicule for all sorts of news based on the values we  promote : the mixity and richness of cultures and people.

Finally, it has had some prestigious guests such as Bonnie Tyler, Alan Shearer, Jeff Beck, Harvey Goldsmith, Nuno Guerreiro, Willie Morgan and Denise Welch. or Paris Buddah Bar top Dj Ravin.

TGIF begins a new adventure as the production team recently settled in Phuket Thailand, again in a multi-cultural environment populated with international figures, colorful characters and fascinating stories. Hosted by Phuket based international station Radio Indochine, the show unfolds a new chapter of its own REAL LIFE COMEDY SHOW.
